What is energy?
Am I just a physical body?
Am I aware of the energy I hold within my being?
How do I move my energy?
Energy causes things to happen around us and exist throughout the entire universe. It exists not only as an energy field around every living thing, but
also circulates through the earth, through the atmosphere around us and
throughout nature. The flow of this energy connects everything that
exists, and you, as a living being, are taking in this energy at every
moment. You are always drawing this life energy into your own energy
field, and it is this energy that supports your life, as well as the
life of all you seek to heal.
Energy Healing Exercise
Stand shoulder width distance, with both feet rooting equally into the ground, spine nice and long, hands down by your side.
Then feel and see the energy coming into your body, up from the earth, down from the sky, and from the atmosphere all around you.
( This will be different for each being and anytime you perform this exercise, so please remain open without any expectations. For me, I sometimes feel a tingling sensation or sometimes heat. )
Now, scan your whole body from head to toe and reverse back as much as possible. Optional to visualize white light from the heavens or angels as you scan, making it easier to visualize.
After this exercise, lay down and allow yourself to absorb the energy you created, and allow yourself to process it. This could manifest emotions or thoughts that have been "stuffed" inside or it could bring up something important that you have been ignoring also. Allow this is be a healing meditation.
So how does Shiatsu relate to energy you ask?
Well, Shiatsu is an art form of moving 'life force energy' throughout your body using the meridian system. This life force energy-often referred to as chi, qi or ki- is believed to
be responsible for maintaining the body’s balance of yin and yang,
opposite energies that cannot exist without the other. An imbalance
between yin and yang are thought to contribute to the development of any
number of health issues or illnesses; this belief system includes the
idea that the body’s systems and internal organs are associated with
different qualities of yin and yang.
